2009 is the 200th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's birth, 16th President of the United States of America. His undeniable courage, resolve, and vision kept this country together during one of its most perilous times. In 1909 President Theodore Roosevelt was able to push through the US Mint bureaucracy and achieve his goal of putting his favorite president on the Cent. The Cent is now 100 years old and still going strong. To commemorate these two milestones the US Mint will be striking 4 different Reverse for 2009. The Birthplace Cent, the Formative Years Cent, the Professional Life Cent, and the Presidency Cent. This will culminate at year end when a new permanent Reverse will be unveiled for 2010 and beyond!
