1776 ~ 2026 Enduring Liberty Half Dollar 9/11 Privy

In commemoration of the lives lost from the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, and February 26, 1993, the Mint is offering special-issue Enduring Liberty Half Dollar coins in rolls and bags with a privy mark of “9-11-01” encircled by the phrase “NEVER FORGET.” A pledge to never forget the Americans whose tragedies and heroism marked September 11, 2001.

The obverse design shows a close-up view of the Statue of Liberty, her steadfast gaze looking outward as if toward the future. The inscriptions are “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and “1776 ~ 2026.”

The reverse design features Liberty passing her torch, its flame trailing with the momentum of purpose, to a new generation. Inscriptions are “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” “HALF DOLLAR,” and “KNOWLEDGE IS THE ONLY GUARDIAN OF TRUE LIBERTY.”

The 2026 ALWAYS REMEMBER Enduring Liberty half dollar is a West Point W coin with a 9-11-01 privy ringed by ALWAYS REMEMBER. The privy honors victims of September 11 2001 and the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. This is a "Circulation Hunt" coin with only 250000 produced. This means the coin was shipped to Federal Reserve Banks on September 14 2026 for random release into pocket change - it was not a product sold by the US Mint!
