1925(P) is common in all grades short of gem. These too are available but do not possess a fully struck date.

The 1925(P) nickel is an odd coin. It is never badly struck, but nor is it ever quite fully struck. All examples seem to have a slightly incomplete look that probably resulted from deficiencies in the master dies. This is true of several P-Mint dates starting with 1919 and lasting through most of the 1920s.

On the plus side, this issue usually features excellent luster. A bit more subdued than for some other dates, it is nonetheless pleasing.

Varieties: As with all nickels dated 1925 from each of the three mints, this issue exhibits slight doubling along the left side of the left hair ribbon. This feature was evidently inherent in the master die for 1925. On one variety, part of AMERICA is obliterated by a cud break. This was probably the consequence of a die clashing, as deep clash marks are visible within the Latin legend.
