Limited Edition! Only 100,000 of the 1999 New Jersey Official First Day Coin Covers will be produced. This wonderful collector's item features two New Jersey quarters from the first day of mintage - May 3, 1999.

Each cover includes quarters from both the Philadelphia and Denver mint facilities on a handsome display card with a 33-cent Flag over City postage stamp. The postmark of May 17, 1999 in Trenton, the capital of New Jersey, marks the day the first New Jersey quarters were released to the Federal Reserve Bank and to the public.

The New Jersey quarter shows General George Washington and members of the Colonial Army crossing the Delaware River en route to very important victories during the Revolutionary War. The design is based on the 1851 painting by Emmanuel Leutze "Washington Crossing the Delaware," which currently hangs in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
