A reliable supplier of good quality planchets was found in 1887, and normal cent production resumed for the first time since 1884. The result was an outpouring of cents in numbers not seen for the past several years. This date is common in all grades short of fully red gem.
One of the more popular Indian Head varieties is found for this date. FS-101 (Snow-1) has distinct doubling on the right side of the obverse, most notably in OF AMERICA.
