The 1992 Olympic Half Dollar Commemorative Coin features a female gymnast against the background of the American flag. The reverse depicts the Olympic torch and an olive branch. The obverse was designed by William Cousins and the reverse was designed by Steven M. Bieda.

The obverse inscriptions include "In God We Trust", "Liberty", "USA" with the Olympic rings, and the date "1992". The reverse inscriptions read "United States of America", "E Pluribus Unum", the denomination "Half Dollar", and "Citius Altius Forius" which is Latin for "Faster, Higher, Stronger".

The 1992 Olympics Half Dollar was produced in uncirculated version at the Philadelphia Mint and proof version at the San Francisco Mint. These coins were struck in a composition of copper nickel clad. The coins were sold individually, or in two and three coin uncirculated or proof sets and a six coin commemorative set.
