Like its P-Mint cousin, the 1956 D nickel may be found with excellent luster. Most, however, have strikes that range only from fair to good. Examples having either 5FS or 6FS are quite rare.
Re-punched mintmark varieties are quite limited for a coin having such a large mintage. None have really caught on with collectors.
