Limited Edition! Only 75,000 of the 2000 South Carolina Official First Day Coin Covers will be produced. This wonderful collector's item features two South Carolina quarters from the first day of mintage -- May 8, 2000. Each cover includes quarters from both the Philadelphia and Denver mint facilities on a handsome display card with a 33-cent Flag over City postage stamp. The postmark of May 22,2000 in Columbia, the capital of South Carolina, marks the day the first South Carolina quarters were released to the Federal Reserve Bank and to the public. The South Carolina quarter shows key state symbols - a Palmetto Tree, the Carolina Wren and the Yellow Jessamine. An outline of the state, the nickname The Palmetto State and a tar indicating the capital, Columbia form the quarter's background.
