1907 saw the highest mintage for the entire Indian Head Cent series. Coincidentally, this year also marked the peak of immigration to the United States. A greater factor in the rise of cent production was the huge diversity of mass produced items that lowered prices to the point were many purchases could be made with a single cent.
Fully red gems of this date are slightly more challenging than for other cents of the period, but this date is very common in all lesser grades. A large number of varieties, most of them quite minor, resulted from this large outpouring of cents.
