In 1976, to commemorate our nation's Bicentennial, coin collectors eagerly awaited the release of specially-created commemorative silver proofs of three popular coins: the Washington quarter, the Kennedy half dollar and the Eisenhower dollar. Each coin shows the standard Presidential bust on the obverse with a newly-designed reverse: a Colonial drummer on the quarter, Independence Hall on the half dollar and the Liberty Bell super-imposed over an image of the moon on the dollar. In addition, the three coins were double-dated 1776-1976, marking the first and only time a U.S. circulating coin was struck with two dates!
Struck in 40% silver proofs at the San Francisco Mint and issued by the U.S. Mint for the year 1976 only.
Three Bicentennial Silver Proof coins, beautifully displayed in its original U.S. Government presentation folder along with the Certificate of Authenticity from the U.S. Mint.
