The 9-piece 1999 Proof set is the first to contain five quarters from the 50 States series which started that year. The program releases five new quarters commemorating five states every year for ten years. The 1999 Proof set contains the first five quarters for Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Georgia, and Connecticut. In addition the set features a Kennedy Half Dollar, a Roosevelt Dime, a Jefferson Nickel, and a Lincoln Cent.

Struck primarily for collectors, proof coins from the U.S. Mint set the international standard for numismatic excellence. The proof coins offer brilliant artistry, fine craftsmanship, and enduring quality.

To achieve their striking beauty, proof coin blanks are fed into presses fitted with hand-polished dies. Then, each coin is struck at least twice to ensure fine detail. The result is a frosted image that appears on a mirror-like background. Each coin is produced by the San Francisco Mint facility, bears the "S" mint mark.

Packaging: Two hard plastic cases inserted into specially printed sleeves and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
