Introduced in 2007, the American Presidency $1 Coin Cover Series showcases the new Presidential $1 Coins. Fifth in the series is the 2008 James Monroe $1 Coin Cover. This limited-edition cover - only 50,000 will be produced - features two James Monroe $1 Coins from the first day of production, January 3, 2008.
Each cover includes two $1 coins, one each from the United States Mints at Philadelphia and Denver, on a handsome display card with the U.S. 41-cent American Flag postage stamp. Additionally, the cover features a portrait of our fifth President in front of an American flag. The postmark of February 14, 2008, Charlottesville, VA, marks the day the James Monroe $1 Coins were first released to the public.
