The obverse of the coin features a depiction of Crispus Attucks. Notably, no likeness of Crispus Attucks actually survives, so the image represents what he may have looked like. The obverse inscriptions include “"Liberty", "In God We Trust", "Crispus Attucks", "1723-1770", and the date of issue "1998".
The reverse of the silver dollar presents a detail from the proposed Black Patriots Memorial. A Black Patriot family is depicted with inscriptions "United States of America", "E Pluribus Unum", and "One Dollar".
The Black Revolutionary War Patriots Silver Dollar was minted at the San Francisco Mint, with proof and uncirculated coins available. The coins were sold individually or as part of a Black Patriots Coin & Stamp Set. This set was packaged with four stamps featuring Frederick Douglas, Benjamin Banneker, Salem Poor, and Harriet Tubman.
