This is another issue that was not fully distributed at or near the time of minting, and many thousands remained idle in bank or Treasury vaults until the mid 1930s. Mint State survivors are thus quite plentiful, and even fully red gems are available in good numbers.
1930-D cents are sometimes found with less than full strikes from die erosion, but this is not a serious problem; there are plenty of sharp pieces, and collectors should not compromise in this regard.
Several repunched mintmark varieties are known.
